Kevin Costner’s wife has filed for divorce.
Christine Costner filed the papers on Monday, ending their 18-year marriage.
A rep for the Yellowstone star confirmed the news in a statement made on Tuesday, telling the outlet, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.”
According to the report, the designer is asking for joint custody of their shared children and is not seeking spousal support.
There’s no word on exactly why she wants a divorce from the actor. Court papers say, “irreconcilable differences.” In a statement released by Kevin’s rep, the actor asks for people to respect the family’s privacy.
