Does anyone else suffer from feels about a celebrity break-up? Liz, who knows nothing about Joe Jonas or Sophie Turner personally, is devastated.
Obviously it would be cruel to root for the demise of anyone’s relationship but it points more to the bigger issue of it having an emotional impact at all. There have definitely been some where the feeling has been “oh, I knew that wouldn’t last” or “thank god that’s over.”
Perhaps it’s because we feel an attachment to celebrities and/or the characters they play.
It can’t be a coincidence that tabloids sell and gossip sites exist. (This is what I say to make myself feel better that I am consuming this information voraciously.)
Which leads to this. Peforming recently on tour with his Jonas Brothers, Joe addressed his big split on state. Doing so before “Hesitate,” the very song he wrote about Turner.
“I just want to say, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. Okay? Thank you, everyone, for the love and support to me and my family. I love you guys.”
Speculation swirls as to what ultimately led to the dissolution of their marriage from one side’s camp accusing the other side’s of being partying too much.
Regardless of what the exact why was, it’s not necessarily our business. Even if I can’t stop reading about it.
