Chris Cuomo has responded to Friday’s allegations of sexual harassment by his former boss at ABC News.
Former producer Shelley Ross says Cuomo grabbed and squeezed her behind at 2005 holiday party, telling her “I can do this now that you’re no longer my boss”. He later apologized by email.
Cuomo told the New York Times “As Shelley acknowledges, our interaction was not sexual in nature. It happened 16 years ago in a public setting when she was a top executive at ABC. I apologized to her then, and I meant it.”
Cuomo’s brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, resigned earlier this year amid allegations of sexual harassment from multiple women. Chris was criticized for advising his brother on how to deal with the allegations.
