Southwest Airlines is dropping its plan to put unvaccinated workers on unpaid leave. The airline has given employees a deadline of Nov. 24th apply for an exemption from the company’s vaccine mandate, for medical or religious reasons.

The airline had planned to put workers on upaid leave while their application was reviewed – but now says employees will be allowed to keep working during that time.

Southwest Airlines is considered a federal contractor, and therefore is required to adhere to the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate which goes into effect Dec. 8th. How has your workplace handled vaccine mandates?
