Jessica Simpson recently posted a picture, which many people call an “unrecognizable” photo of the singer/actress from the height of her addiction to alcohol.
The photo shows a heavier Simpson in a tracksuit with no makeup on. “This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017, is an unrecognizable version of myself,” she captioned the photo. “I had so much self-discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self-respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.”
Simpson goes on to write, “The drinking wasn’t the issue. I was. I didn’t love myself. I didn’t respect my own power.”
Fans and celebrities praised Simpson for posting the picture. “WILDLY HONEST,” wrote comedian Chelsea Handler, Diane Keaton posted several heart emojis, “YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION & this is exactly why you are literally my role model. Love you forever,” Snooki commented under Jessica’s post.
