An Instagram account called @marilynmonroecollection has shared photos of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” dress highlighting “before” the dress was worn, and “after” it was worn, and it shows apparent damage to the back of the gown.

The dress appears to be fraying and several crystals also appear to have fallen off.

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum loaned the dress to Kim and is currently displaying it at its Hollywood location.

In the 2016 auction photos, there are one to two hand-sewn crystals decorating the back of the dress that are missing, while Ripley’s recent video shows a few more gems gone. But Sunday’s photos show even more beading had fallen off, some jewels hanging by a thread and damage to one of the straps.

They have not responded to a request for comments regarding the damage.

Do you think Kim should have been allowed to wear the dress?
