Top Gun: Maverick has been flying past the competition at the box office.  The Tom Cruise-led sequel has passed the $900 million mark at the box office worldwide.  That number makes the high-flying film the third movie of the pandemic era to hit the $900 million mark.

Top Gun: Maverick was released on May 27 of this year. The film has grossed over $901 million worldwide, making it the second highest grossing film of 2022. It broke several box office records upon its release, including the largest Memorial Day four-day opening weekend, and became the second highest-grossing film from Paramount domestically, and the highest of Cruise’s career.

The two other films are Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
