In a recent podcast interview, the director of Twilight: New Moon, Chris Weitz, reveals that Taylor Swift wanted to be in the movie as she was a “Twi-hard,” the term for die-hard Twilight fans.
“Taylor Swift and I had the same agent at the time, and he said, “Taylor would like to be in this movie – not because of you, but she’s a Twi-hard!’” Weitz said on the podcast The Twilight Effect with Ashley Greene and Melanie Howe.
The plan was for Taylor to be an extra in the diner, but Weitz had to decline Taylor’s request because he felt her presence would draw attention away from the other characters and the film’s storyline.
“I kick myself for it too, because – I was like, wow, I could’ve been hanging out with Taylor Swift,” said Weitz.
