During last night’s Country Music Association Awards, Luke Combs was named Entertainer of the Year, winning the night’s top prize for the second consecutive year.

“I want to thank country music for making my dreams come true,” Combs said, dedicating the award to his wife and newborn child.

“Country is sounding more country than it has in a long time tonight,” Combs said. He also won Album of the Year for “Growin’ Up.”

Country music’s newest star, Lainey Wilson won New Artist of the Year at last night’s CMAs.

The past year has been one of highs and lows; after rushing to her father’s side due to health reasons, On Wednesday night (November 9), he walked the red carpet with Wilson and was there to see her earn the award.

She took the stage to give a tearful and emotional speech in accepting the award.

Wilson received her first CMA nominations this year, with six. As the only female contestant in the New Artist category for the 2022 awards ceremony, she was the most nominated artist of the evening.
