Regardless of your politics, the loss of a family pet is a feeling we can all relate to.  For the Obama’s, this loss hit home today when they loss the companionship of their family dog “Bo” after 12 years.  According to the former First Lady, Bo passed away after a battle with cancer – and due to the pandemic, surrounded by happiness and around ALL of his family.

Former President Barack Obama wrote on his Instagram “Today our family lost a true friend and loyal companion,” Obama tweeted. “For more than a decade, Bo was a constant, gentle presence in our lives—happy to see us on our good days, our bad days, and everyday in between.”

Years ago, my family lost a member –  Bauer (named after the total beast-mode of a man, Jack Bauer from the TV show “24′).  It’s a hole that to this day we haven’t filled.  We may talk about getting a new dog, my son REALLY wants one – but to me it is nearly impossible to replace Bauer.  I’m almost certain this is how the Obama’s must be feeling right now, and I can only send them strength and the ability to remember the fun moments in Bo’s life (that’s what got me through Bauer’s passing)
