Mark Wahlberg made a visit to the ‘Today’ show today, which is also Ash Wednesday for Catholics, and opened up about how his relationship with God has impacted his life.

Wearing an ash cross on his forehead in observance of the first day of Lent Mark said, I don’t want to jam it down anybody’s throat, but I do not deny my faith. That’s an even bigger sin.

You know, it’s not popular in my industry, but I cannot deny my faith. It’s important for me to share that with people.” He continued saying, “I have friends from all walks of life and all different types of faiths and religions, so it’s important to respect and honor them as well.”

Mark is serving at a guest narrator on a Catholic prayer app called “Hallow” where discusses his “Pray 40-Day Lent Challenge.”

Do you have a faith practice that you feel strongly about? Has your faith every impacted your life?
