American Idol greats Ruben Studdard and Clay Akin checked in with Madison James.
Ruben and Clay are back on stage together with their 20 years in One Night Tour. Their chemistry and friendship over 20 years shows and we can’t wait till they stop in Charlotte. Ruben and Clay share how American Idol has for forever changed their life.
Ruben shares how the singers originally made the connection on the show and confessed he thought Clay was a player.
“We all stay at this hotel and a bar in the hotel and he was around a whole bunch of girls,” he expressed, “And I was like, “man, who is this dude over there?””.
Clay reveals how much American Idol impacted their lives and how big season 2 was as a new television show.
“The show really blew up the season we were on it. And I think that’s kind of a large part of why people associate Idol and Reuben, Cly together because in a way, we were sort of the first season. I’m not giving any disrespect to Kelly Clarkson.”
Ruben and Clay’s show will be in Charlotte on May 4 at the Knight Theater. The two said you can expect a great time and good singing.
