The sheriff said the victim’s vehicle came close to another car during a merge into a lane. The car then pulled up alongside Eberly’s vehicle, and a person rolled down the window and fired multiple shots into the passenger door, the sheriff said. Eberly was struck multiple times and later died at a hospital. Her husband was unharmed before witnesses say the shooter sped off, according to Wilkins.

North Carolina legislators have proposed a new bill that would keep transgender girls from participating on girls’ sports teams. The “Save Women’s Sports Act” was presented by Republican lawmakers at the North Carolina General Assembly, according to News & Observer.
The proposal by Republican lawmaker Tom Corbin works off of the state's constitution that allows the governor to call up an “unorganized militia” of any “able bodied male citizens” between ages 18 and 45. An exception would automatically expand membership to everyone who is over the age of 17.
During the exchange, a member of the Marshals' Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force (CRFTF) perceived a lethal threat and fired their service weapon striking Jennings. Witnesses in the area say they heard two shots fired. Jennings was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.
According to the Governor's executive order, retail businesses and shops, museums, and aquariums as well as barbers, salons, and personal care businesses are allowed to operate at 100%. The limits for mass gatherings will double to 50 people indoors and 100 outdoors.
