Dolly Parton Pays Tribute To ‘9 To 5’ Actor Dabney Coleman: “I Will Miss Him Greatly” Dolly Parton has paid tribute to her friend and “9 to 5” co-star Dabney Coleman after his death at 92.  Coleman, known for his role in the hit film “9 to 5,” passed away on May 16. Parton remembered Coleman as a “dear friend” and praised his talent and friendship.  The Emmy-winning actor’s death prompted tributes from other collaborators, including Ben Stiller and Kevin Costner. Coleman’s daughter also shared a heartfelt statement honoring her father’s legacy and impact on the entertainment industry. In a message on social media (May 20), Parton wrote: “Dabney was a great actor and became a dear friend. He taught me so much when I was doing my first movie, 9 to 5. He was funny, deep, and smart.”
