Joe Alwyn Opens Up About Breakup With Taylor Swift

For The First Time More than a year after their April 2023 separation, Joe Alwyn is speaking out about his relationship with Taylor Swift.  Alwyn dated Swift for almost “six and a half years,” he told The Sunday Times. He said they broke up “a little over a year ago.” ET announced their split on April 8, 2023. “I understand people’s curiosity,” Alwyn said in the June 15th interview. Alwyn didn’t directly answer if he had heard Taylor’s latest album; he said, “I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize with and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years.”

He continued. “That is a hard thing to navigate. What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in.” Alwyn said he’s made “peace” with how his relationship with Taylor played out in the public eye. “There is always going to be a gap between what is known and what is said,” he said.
