Billy Joel Opens Up On Being Dissed By CBS

Two months after CBS cut off Billy Joel’s TV special right in the middle of “Piano Man,” the legendary rocker has reacted to the dis – and he says it came as no shock. “I wasn’t surprised,” Joel tells Variety. “I wasn’t surprised that it got cut off short because I’ve always kind of been cut short by TV. I’m never crazy about doing TV. I don’t think I’m telegenic anyway. I think I’m one of those artists who should be heard and not necessarily seen.”  “Billy Joel: The 100th – Live from Madison Square Garden” aired April 19th on CBS. Joel is set to end his 10-year residency at Madison Square Garden on July 25th.
