A parent was caught on video pushing a referee to the ground during a youth wrestling tournament at the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord.
The referee, identified as Sean, has dedicated decades to the sport and was overseeing a championship match for a middle school weight class.
The incident occurred after Sean signaled a potentially dangerous move and instructed a wrestler to let go of a leg hold.
The parent of the wrestler involved, Joshua Hammond, intervened and pushed Sean down.
Another parent and coach, Tony Johnson, saw the incident as a teaching moment for his son and emphasized the importance of choices and consequences in life.
