Kelly Clarkson faced backlash from mom-shamers after posting a video of her three year old

daughter trying Nutella for the first time.

Some critics called it “child abuse” and expressed concerns about the sugar content in the spread.

However, many moms came to Clarkson’s defense, pointing out that giving kids sugar occasionally is normal.

Clarkson has not taken down the post, and most people seem to support her.

According to Good Housekeeping, false reports claimed Nutella contained carcinogenic palm oil.

However, manufacturer Ferraro clarified the hazelnut spread is a-okay to eat, no matter what Facebook headlines say.

Jaclyn London, R.D., Nutrition Director at the Good Housekeeping Institute, agrees. “There is absolutely zero substantial evidence to suggest that Nutella increases cancer risk,” she says. “No single food product can increase your risk of chronic disease in isolation!”

Clarkson is staying busy covering the Paris Olympics on NBC.
