Singing sensation Jelly Roll is a big deal behind the microphone and, now, behind the badge.
This week, a Detroit radio station shared a video of Jelly Roll being sworn in as a deputy with the Community Cares Task Force by Sheriff Christopher Swanson.
The two are familiar with one another.
Jelly Roll helped the sheriff start a program called I.G.N.I.T.E., which helps inmates earn their GED while serving time.
Jelly Roll has been open about his time behind bars at age 16 for aggravated robbery and possession with intent to sell.
Jelly Roll’s Beautifully Broken Tour makes a stop in Charlotte for a pre-Halloween show on Oct 27th.
