Red Cross Dealing With ‘Emergency Blood Shortage’

The American Red Cross says it’s dealing with an ’emergency blood shortage’ nationwide. The organization says its blood supply has fallen by more than 25 percent, with extreme heat and summer travel interfering with its blood drives. They’re urging donors to give as soon as possible – especially donors with type O blood. The Red Cross is also offering a $20 Amazon gift card to anyone who donates by the end of the month.
