Be careful how you talk to Siri, or her robot offspring might want payback someday . . .
A new poll asked people how polite they are when speaking to A.I. Like, do you say “please” and “thank you”? Or do you just order Alexa around?
Two in five said they think it matters . . . because someday, our past behavior towards A.I. will be “taken into account somehow.” So, be nice now or it might want to DESTROY us later.
The good news is most people ARE pretty nice to A.I. in general. Or at least not outright rude.
44% said they’re polite, and say things like “please,” “thank you,” and “hello.” Another 25% said they’re more to the point, but not rude to it.
Only 7% said they’re sometimes mean and do things like “be abrupt” or SWEAR at their A.I. helper.
It also found older people don’t feel the need to be as nice as young people do. 56% of Gen Z’ers are polite to A.I., compared to 39% of Boomers.
