A woman is standing firm in her decision to give her baby a traditional family name, Oisín, despite her sister-in-law using the same name for her child.

The woman’s husband’s Irish heritage inspired the naming choice, and they had agreed on the name long before the sister-in-law’s pregnancy.

Despite the sister-in-law’s objections, the woman went ahead and named her son Oisín Daniel as planned.

While some commenters agreed that the name isn’t owned by anyone, others found the sister-in-law’s actions unnecessary and advised her to “grow up.”

Have you ever had dibs on a baby name, only to have it taken from a friend or family member?
