Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries was arrested in a sex-trafficking investigation, along with his partner Matt Smith and another man, Jim Jacobson.
The probe by federal prosecutors and the FBI looked into allegations of exploiting and abusing young men at parties in the U.S. and other countries.
According to the investigation, 12 males talked of going to or planning events for Jeffries and his companion Smith that featured sex acts between 2009 and 2015. A few of the guys who talked to the BBC claimed they weren’t eager to participate or that they were taken advantage of.
The investigation was prompted by a lawsuit filed by alleged victims in 2023.
Attorney Brittany Henderson, representing some victims, expressed hope for justice and holding Abercrombie & Fitch accountable for facilitating the misconduct.
Jeffries was the CEO of the popular clothing brand from 1992 to 2014.
