Luke Combs admitted to flubbing the lyrics of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” during a recent concert, revealing that he had recorded the song with incorrect lyrics.
Chapman graciously corrected him, leading Combs to sing the original lyrics during the performance.
The lyric, “We gotta make a decision,” Combs recorded as “Still gotta make a decision.”
“That was the first time that I knew that I recorded the song incorrectly,” he told the crowd.
“It was her telling me that. Because I remember, when she said that, I wanted to crawl into a hole,” Combs told a recent audience.
