The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced 323 feature films eligible for the 97th Academy Awards, with 207 eligible for Best Picture. These include major contenders like “Anora,” “The Brutalist,” and “Conclave.”

To be eligible for general entry categories, a film must have opened in specific locations with a seven-day qualifying run. For Best Picture consideration, additional requirements, such as a theatrical run in 10 of the top 50 U.S. markets, are necessary.

High-grossing movies like “Inside Out 2,” “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and “Moana 2” were listed alongside critically acclaimed films like “Babygirl” and “A Different Man” on the Best Picture list.

International films like “Evil Does Not Exist,” “Green Border,” and “Queens” had a strong presence, and even films not selected by their official country for Best International Film contention can still be nominated for Best Picture.

Nominations for the 97th Academy Awards will be announced on Friday, Jan. 17, after voting ends on Sunday, Jan. 12. The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, March 2, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, streaming live on Hulu.
