Task Renewed For Season Two

HBO has renewed the drama series Task for a second season, which was a word-of-mouth hit and one of HBO’s fastest-growing debut seasons.
Francesca Orsi, executive vp HBO Programming, praised the show’s creator Brad Ingelsby for his storytelling and plotting skills, stating, “Rarely does a writer balance humanistic storytelling with intricate, explosive plotting but Brad Ingelsby is one of our industry’s greats.”
Brad Ingelsby expressed gratitude for HBO’s support and excitement for the second season, saying, “On behalf of the entire Task team, in front of and behind the camera, I am honored and excited to get back to work on a second season of our show.”
The first season of Task followed Mark Ruffalo’s FBI agent leading a task force in Philadelphia to end a string of drug-house robberies, with a cast that included Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, and others.
Brad Ingelsby served as showrunner and executive producer for the first season, with directors Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield and producers Paul Lee, Mark Roybal, David Crockett, and Ron Schmidt.
