A new study is looking at the best holiday cookies.
Food researchers at Menu Price compiled data from Google searches to see which cookie recipe reigned supreme in each state.
The most Googled cookie recipe was gingerbread, as it took the No. 1 spot in seven states. The next most popular Christmas cookie was sugar, followed by Mexican wedding cookies, black and white, oatmeal and snickerdoodle.
North Carolina’s most searched-for cookie recipe was the Moravian Cookie. If you aren’t familiar with the cookies, they are rolled paper-thin, with a rich intensity of a warm winter blend of ginger, allspice, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
