Michael Jordan is no longer an NBA owner.

According to reports, MJ has agreed to sell his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets to minority owner Gabe Plotkin for $3 billion.

Plotkin has been a minority owner since 2019.

Jordan bought the team in 2010 for $275 million, making him the first Black owner in league history. With Jordan’s departure that leaves the NBA without any Black majority ownership.

Music artists and NC natives J. Cole and Eric Church are now minority owners of the team. Other local minority owners include Amy Levine Dawson and Damian Mills.
