Hi to our great Mix Community!! It’s Holly Haze! Join me for the 2nd Annual Prep Your Pet event happening this Saturday, July 1 at Animal Care & Control 8315 Byrum Drive in Charlotte. I will be there from 10-noon, but the day is filled with amazing events til 5 pm to ensure you and your furry friends are prepared for a safe and happy summer!!
With Fourth of July around the corner, it’s time for fireworks, boating, barbecues, pool parties and those pesky thunderstorms. While this sounds like a list of summer fun, these events can be very stressful for pets. In fact, more pets are lost during 4th of July weekend than any other time of the year. It’s the shelter’s busiest season. Animal Care & Control (and alll shelters) is already over-capacity and having to make extremely tough decisions every week. Let’s make sure those numbers go down instead of up.
From 8-10:45 Saturday morning, Mecklenburg county residents can bring their pet to AC&C for FREE clinic services: exam with core vaccines, rabies vaccines, microchip, pet I.D. tag, thunder shirts, dog dental chews and treats, pet food and pet goods!!
There will be a vendor fair from 8 am-noon. Emergency demonstrations will be going on throughout the entire event.
From 11-5 ADOPTION FEES WILL BE WAIVED!!!!! (donation of your choice is appreciated). When you adopt a pet from AC&C, you will get free spay/neuter surgery, microchip, pet license smart tag, $100 medical voucher from Animal Medical Hospital, de-worming and heart worm care, 1 week of free Good Pup virtual dog training, and all the vaccines needed to make your new family member ready to thrive in their forever home.
If you have been thinking about adopting..well, now is the time. If you just aren’t quite sure, consider fostering or a staycation. This gives the dog great time to decompress away from the kennel stress and frees up much needed space at the shelter. It also provides the shelter with feedback about the dog to add to their notes and help find them a furever home.
So join me from 10 to noon on Saturday. I will be giving away tickets to the 1975 concert at Spectrum Center! It’s time to rally for these pets who only want to be loved. See you all July 1st!!!
