Thanks to “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer,” July is the global box office’s highest-grossing month since 2020.  Granted, not many people were going to the movies in 2020 due to social distancing.

Screen Daily added, “Despite both films not releasing until July 21, ‘Barbenheimer’ accounted for 27% of the global total for the month at $1.2bn.”

Many movie-goers decided to make it a back to back double feature. As of the end of the month, Barbie made $775 million, and Oppenheimer made $400m.

Why do you think these two movies are doing so well at the box office?
