Sam Asghari has officially filed to divorce Britney Spears.
TMZ states that he cited “irreconcilable differences” in the filing.
The outlet says that Sam is asking for spousal support and attorneys fees. They also add, “But on the issue of finances, there’s something way more interesting. Sam’s lawyer, Neal Hersh, is making rumblings that Sam will contest the prenup.”
TMZ shared details on the court documents, and they say, “[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party. There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time.”
Britney and Sam met on the set of the pop star’s “Slumber Party” music video in 2016 and began dating shortly afterward. The couple announced their engagement in September 2021 and held a wedding ceremony inside Spears’ Los Angeles home in June 2022.
