The list of ‘American Idol’ finalists who have died is growing at an alarming rate with the most recent death of Mandisa who was found dead in her Nashville, TN home last week.
The cause of her death is still under investigation.
21 completed seasons of American Idol have produced 252 Top 12 finalists. Eight (or 3.2 percent) have died in the last 10 years.
Along with Mandisa, notable contestants like Michael Johns, and Leah LaBelle have also died.
The cause of these deaths vary from car accidents, cancer, heart attack and brain aneurysm.
The deaths of these talented individuals, many of whom faced tragic circumstances, highlight the challenges faced by former contestants post-show.
