Charlotte’s a thriving city with a new restaurant opening seemingly every day. So allow us to tell you about a pair of new openings this month and a third slated for next Spring.

The first you can expect on October 11th and is a concept borne from James Fox, a James Beard-nominated restaurateur. (He also developed Flowerchild and North Italia.)

Doors open on October 11th in South End sharing the Vantage building with other occupant, Sixty Vines.

Spend any time in Charlotte and you’ll notice the degree of difficulty in eating late night. I often consider it a 10:00 town.

Well, a new spot uptown will offer much later hours.

Welcome, Spice which will open Tuesday through Thursday from 5pm-12am, Friday and Saturday 5pm-2am and Sunday from 5pm-12am.

Food-wise you can expect international flavors and small plates at affordable prices. They’re eyeing a late October opening.

Lastly, it’s the much-anticpated arrival La Malo (and it’s sister bar, Hermanita) which has a target date of Spring 2024 in Plaza Midwood.

La Malo will offer Tijuana-style tacos and Hermanita will be attached for convenient cocktails. There’ll be a pass-through window from El Malo to Hermanita for the food.

The same people behind Taqueria Mal Plan are bringing the Southern California vibe and boasts some of the best burritos in North Carolina.

Cheers to that!
