Former first lady Michelle Obama has confirmed that she will not be running for president, expressing her support for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign.
Despite speculation, Obama has reiterated that she has no intention of entering the presidential race.
Biden, who is currently leading the 2024 Democratic presidential nominating contest, has received support from the Obamas in his bid for a second term.
The former first lady made her stance clear during an interview in 2022, stating her aversion to being asked about a potential presidential run.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Obama’s director of communications said:“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president.”
