It was a monster mash at the box office on Easter weekend. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire stomped the competition with $80 million in its opening weekend – the second-biggest opening weekend in 2024 so far. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire finished second with $15.7 million, followed by Kung Fu Panda 4 with $10 million. Dune: Part Two ($9.85 million) and Immaculate ($3.2 million) rounded out the top five.
