Well, this isn’t very “Fancy Like.” Applebee’s — known for its margaritas, burgers, and bar-type food — has been shutting down its chain locations across the U.S.
The chain closed 46 locations in 2023 and plans to continue with closures this year.
Applebee’s President Tony Moralejo shared in a fourth-quarter earnings call that 25 to 35 more locations are expected to close this year.
There is GOOD news for fans of the restaurant: chain owner Dine Brands Global is preparing to launch Applebee’s/IHOP combo restaurants in 2025.
