The husband of “One Tree Hill” star Bevin Prince has died after being struck by lightning, authorities say.
William Friend, the CEO of Bisnow Media, was standing outside the Wilmington, North Carolina home he shares with Prince on Sunday when he was killed, according to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office. Paramedics attempted to revive the 33-year-old Friend for 20 minutes before they finally pronounced him dead, the sheriff’s office reports.
Although Prince has not commented on the loss of her husband, her friend, actress Odette Annable, called the death “surreal” in an Instagram post. “Will, it feels surreal writing this,” the post reads.
“Mostly because it feels like you were just getting started. The life and love that you gave to my best friend made it feel okay that we were thousands of miles apart. As I sit in your beautiful home, looking out onto the ocean, I keep thinking about what a gift you gave to Bevin. What a gift you gave to everyone who knew you to witness the passion that burned in your soul.”
