A specialist in sound symbolism has unveiled the world’s most beautiful baby names.
In the top spot was Zayn, after the One Direction member. Royal family names like William, George, and Louie rounded out the top ten for boys.
For girls in the U.K., names with a strong “E” sound, like Sophia, Zoe, Rosie, Sophie, and Ivy, were in the top five. In the U.S., the most beautiful boy’s name is Matthew, followed by Julian, William, Isaiah, and Leo.
For girls, Sophia ranked high in the U.S. The specialist also noted that many people avoid names that start with an “S” if the family last name starts with an “S” because the two “S” sounds will blend, as in “Marcus Scott.”
