A Delta Air Lines jet was able to land safely despite malfunctioning landing gear

It happened Wednesday morning at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

The flight originated from Atlanta in the early morning hours and landed in Charlotte just before 9am.

The plane’s nose gear malfunctioned, but the pilot was able to execute an ‘absolutely perfect’ landing and none of the 104 passengers were harmed.

The incident did cause several dozen flights to be delayed or canceled while crews cleared the runway.

The Federal Aviation Administration will conduct an investigation to determine what caused the nose gear to not come down.
