As the Fourth of July approaches, veterinarians and dog experts are warning pet owners to be aware of the dangers of the holiday.

Fireworks and large crowds can cause dogs to become stressed and anxious, leading to them running away.

To keep your pet safe, pet owners should take precautions such as putting their pet in the quietest room in the house, using calming music, making sure their pet is wearing a collar and ID tags, exercising their pet early in the morning, giving them something to do during the fireworks, and talking to their vet about providing calming aids.
