Matthew McConaughey was asked if he saw a run at politics in his future, and his answer seems to have left the door open for a political run. During an appearance on the Smartless podcast Monday, McConaughey was asked by co-host Sean Hayes if a political run was in his future. “It’s not something I want to visit now,” said Matthew. “Raising my three kids right now is a hard but fair fight. Going into politics right now? Is a hard and unfair fight.” In 2021, Matthew teased a run against Gov. Greg Abbott and Beto O’Rourke, but he pulled out of the race two weeks before the candidate filing deadline.
