October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and all month-long Mix 1079 is Shining a Light On Pink. Each week we will shine a spotlight on local breast cancer survivors and thrivers as they share their breast cancer journey. This week we highlight Melissa from Pineville who shares her breast cancer story.
Melissa’s Story:
Melissa is a 5 year Breast Cancer Thriver and Survivor. She’s a clinical operations leader who began her journey into science while attending Spelman College and Morehouse School of Medicine. Melissa has devoted her time and talents to mentoring future and current students in research through her Alma Maters and as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
