Burt Young, the Oscar-nominated actor most recognized for his role as Sylvester Stallone’s sidekick in “Rocky,” has reportedly died.
He passed away at 83.
According to The New York Times, his daughter, Anne Morea Steingieser, confirmed his death on Wednesday.
Young’s breakthrough role in “Rocky” as Paulie Pennino, the titular boxer’s best friend and the brother of his love interest, came as one of the film’s more prominent actors at the time.
The actor had roles in renowned films and television shows including Chinatown, Once Upon A Time In America and The Sopranos.
