Need to get your back-to-school shopping done? This might be the weekend to do it tax-free.

Head over the North Carolina-South Carolina border just minutes away for 72-hour tax-free shopping.

10 states have declared a two-day ‘tax holiday’, ditching sales tax for clothing and school supplies. The following states kick off the tax holiday on Friday: Iowa, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.

South Carolina tax-free weekend will run from August 6-8. Arkansas will begin its tax holiday on Saturday, and Maryland will start on Sunday.  Florida is also in the middle of a 10-day tax holiday that runs through Tuesday.

How much do you spend each year on back-to-school shopping?  Should clothing and school supplies be tax-free year round?
