Happy New Year 2024

I mean why not? It even rhymes!

So many people make resolutions to drink less, stay in more, spend less. Well, I say 2024 should be the year of more. Let’s manfiest indulgence and abundance.

You can start the year off strong by heading to Charlotte Motor Speedway to see Cirque du Soleil Bazaar.

Tickets are available here and start at $36. The event is on now and runs through January 14th.

If you didn’t get your ice skating itch scratched before Christmas, Camp North End has you covered. Their new ice skating rink will remain until January 7th according to their website. Hours vary depending on the day.

If January 7th is too soon of a cutoff for you, Birkdale on Ice remains open until January 28th.

Everything has shut down for the Light the Knights Festival at Truist Field for the season.

The minor league baseball stadium now prepares for the Outdoor Classic on January 13th the when the Charlotte Checkers play hockey outside on a custom-made ice rink.

Staying on the ice, how about cocktails and curling? (The pairing we didn’t know we needed.)

You can drink cocktails and learn the basics of how to curl with the Charlotte Curling Association. They have a waitlist you can go on between now and January 6th.

Sign up for free here. And if you go, please report back. I am FASCINATED.

The Panthers put this dismal season out of its (and maybe our) misery on Sunday. They play their final game at Bank of America Stadium hosting the rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

I am not linking to tickets because I just cannot. I still might tailgate though.

It’s the final tailgate at the WFNZ Dog House of which I am always a fan. I promise to behave better than David Tepper.

Have a great week, everyone.
