Jeff Bezos Gives $50 Million To Retired Navy Admiral, ‘Desperate Housewives’ Actress A retired Navy admiral and a former Desperate Housewives star have each received $50 million from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Actress Eva Longoria and Adm. Bill McRaven are the recipients of this year’s Bezos Courage and Civility Award, offered to people who make “significant contributions to society”.
Longoria will use the money to continue her work with lower-income Latino communities.
McRaven will focus on helping veterans and education efforts for future military leaders and the children of fallen soldiers.
Past recipients of the Bezos Courage and Civility Award include Dolly Parton, CNN’s Van Jones, and celebrity chef José Andrés
