Just a day after Richard Simmons sparked worry over miscommunication on social media by declaring he was “dying,” the fitness instructor revealed he was diagnosed with skin cancer.
In a new post, Richard said he noticed “a strange looking bump under my right eye” He continued, “I had a tube of Neosporin which I would put on in the morning and the evening….it was still there. It was time to call my dermatologist.”
He went on to say after a biopsy, “He comes back about 20 minutes later and says the ‘C’ word. ‘You have cancer.’
I asked him what kind of cancer, and he said Basal Cell Carcinoma.
I told him to stop calling me dirty names. He laughed.”
Richard then detailed the next appointment in which the dermatologist removed the cancer cells in a painful process.
It’s unclear at this point if Simmons is cancer-free currently.
