The royal state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II is underway in London.
The proceedings began at Westminster Abbey, where a small ceremony was held for members of the royal family and other dignitaries.
After that, a 25-mile funeral procession carried the Queen’s remains to her final resting place at Windsor Castle, with thousands of Brits lining the streets to pay their respects.
A committal service will be held at St. George’s Chapel at 4pm local time (11am EST), and finally the queen will be interred in a private burial service at 7:30pm (2:30pm EST).
Are there any aspects of the British funeral tradition we should adopt in the U.S.?
