If you were in Charlotte in the 80’s you probably made a trip to Heritage USA. You can still see some remains of the complex and amusement park in my current hometown of Ft. Mill, SC.

According to Wikipedia…”It was the third-largest theme park by attendance, with 4.9 million visitors per year, behind only Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and Disneyland in Anaheim, California

Ramona and I are very much looking forward to the movie, “Eyes of Tammy Faye”. Ramona still talks about meeting Tammy Faye in a Stein Mart. Tammy Faye was a big part of Charlotte for many years.

Jessica Chastain ( my favorites starring her, Molly’s Game, and Zero Dark Thirty) stars as Tammy Faye. Andrew Garfield (The Amazing- Spider Man, Hacksaw Ridge) plays Jim Bakker. Vincent D’Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Daredevil, Full Metal Jacket) co-stars as Jerry Fallwell.

Chastain told People magazine she spent 4 hours undergoing make up, wigs, and prosthetics to transform into Tammy Faye.

If you want to refresh your memory, or maybe you didn’t follow the story at the time, stream the 2019 20/20 four part series about PTL, called Divinely Unfaithful.

When you watch the trailer you can see why Chastain told People magazine she spent 4 hours undergoing heavy make up, wigs, and prosthetics to transform into Tammy Faye. In the trailer you will pick up some Charlotte area locations.

“Eyes of Tammy Bakker” hits theaters September 17th.
