The move to downsize will dissolve roughly 20 jobs and save the town over $1 million. Among the changes included a three-year, $1.3 million contract awarded to the sheriff's department. Town leaders say it will increase their “boots on the ground” coverage by 75% and eliminate duplication of services, "allowing the town to use resources more efficiently and effectively."

A surprise announcement that comes days after Cuomo said Broadway would not be reopening in two weeks as many New York City businesses and venues are scheduled to welcome people back. He cited the logistics of opening Broadway to full capacity with no lead time as the reason it would remain closed for the next six months.

“Given the seriousness of the violations and the ongoing risk of violence, Facebook was justified in suspending Mr. Trump’s accounts on January 6 and extending that suspension on January 7,” the board said in its decision. They went on to say Trump “created an environment where a serious risk of violence was possible by maintaining a narrative that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent."

North Carolina’s House Health Committee approved the bill, which would require doctors to provide documentation under oath of any abortion performed with a set of details of why they did the procedure. Those documents would be reviewed by the state as the next level of oversight.
